Why Render Capital
The Render Capital Initiative seeks to invest in companies that are strategically positioned to advance the gospel, while also promoting human flourishing around the globe.
As the Christian Investing Industry has matured, so has the rigor around its evaluation. With this maturation, a consensus has emerged around the framework used to express the various dimensions of Faith-Driven or Redemptive Investing. Underlying the framework is a full recognition that the Christian has a moral responsibility, to steward, and thus, first, be aware of the impact of his capital allocation decisions in society. The framework is commonly known as “Avoid, Embrace, and Engage.”

AVOID
AVOID recognizes two concurrent truths. First, that there are products, services of a company which may cause harm to society. Secondly, that the company may engage in activities or operations which may create a negative impact on society.
EmBrace
EMBRACE recognizes the power and promise of capital allocation as a positive force in the world. The evaluation under this “embrace” or “positive screening” component more fully seeks to fulfill the glorious responsibility that humankind has as vice-regents to develop, sustain, and renew the creation alongside and on behalf of God.
ENgage
ENGAGE recognizes that, even given the complicated nature of the investment industry and its various investment vehicles and products, continued active investment oversight is prudent. Opportunities now exist to speak with a neighbor-loving voice into investments with greater efficiency and lower cost than ever before.

The RENDER Capital Initiative represents a more intentional, mission-driven sleeve within the Provision portfolio and more fully and directly leverages the power of capital allocation for the fundamental purposes of donors, and thus, Provision.
