Provision Financial Resources Announces the Render Capital Initiative during the NC Baptist annual meeting

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Provision Financial Resources announced the launch of the Render Capital Initiative, a groundbreaking addition to its institutional investing program, during the N.C. Baptist Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. The Render Capital Initiative seeks to strategically invest in companies positioned to advance the gospel and promote human flourishing worldwide, utilizing a redemptive investing framework.

Provision President and CEO Harry Nelson introduced the Render Capital Initiative during his report to N.C. Baptist messengers. “The Render Capital Initiative reflects our commitment to a dual stewardship mandate,” Nelson said. “Our primary responsibility is to fulfill our fiduciary duty to our donors by seeking a compelling return. Yet, we know that everything we manage ultimately belongs to God, and we aim to steward these resources in ways that honor Him.”

The Render Capital Initiative operates within a structured framework known as “Avoid, Embrace, Engage, and Render.” This approach balances prudent financial management with a significant Kingdom impact. Through Render Capital, Provision carefully selects companies based on their capacity to advance the gospel and support human flourishing. Render Capital evaluates each investment’s potential for financial returns and gospel impact, ensuring that both aspects align with the organization’s mission.

David Brown, president and CEO of GoodSpace, one of the companies supported by Render Capital, expressed his gratitude for the partnership. “We're really thankful for Provision, and specifically for the Render Capital Initiative. It’s allowed us to grow, increase our impact in London and across France, and hopefully beyond,” he said.

Nelson recently visited several companies within the Render Capital portfolio, including GoodSpace in the United Kingdom, Kua Ventures in Kenya, and Pureflow in Uganda, observing firsthand the profound impact of these enterprises. Reflecting on his experience, he said, “The work of companies like GoodSpace affirms our belief in redemptive investing. Through Render Capital, we aim to multiply this impact globally, supporting innovative leaders and enterprises committed to Kingdom values.”

The Render Capital Initiative underscores Provision’s dedication to leveraging financial resources for God’s glory and the good of the world.
